The Building of the Museum at Prairiefire

Inspired by the prairie-fire burns that cover Kansas fields during parts of the year, the Museum at Prairiefire was designed to embody all aspects of fire. In his pursuit to examine how a building (something you would rarely want to associate with fire) would portray this elemental force at every level, architect Jonathan Kharfen of Verner Johnson, Inc. set about designing every aspect with a flame motif. Provided below are his detailed notes, designs, and the in-process construction of the Museum at Prairiefire to show the laborious process of bringing a building of this nature to life.
